Goddess Vs Caste ?

  • 13/12/2024

Good morning Team, It is a day of goddess Laxmi. So let's talk about this ritual called Manabasa. But before going to the discussion let me brief about it something like why it got started and why this ritual is performed very eagerly? As I believe all of us know about it lilbit or much. Just let me share my understanding on it. But before that let me thank Santha Balaram Das who wrote it. The point is friends it actually taught us one thing like yesterday I said about castes that If you are a Brahmin or Sudra there is no discrimination in front of Goddess Laxmi and if someone opposes it then they must suffer. Even lord Jagannath itself can't escape from it. So we read it every year but after that we do the same old style you are Brahmin you are Sudras. Means no understanding just needs to perform because every one is performing and also for fear like may Goddess Laxmi be angry with us. Point is friends like in our schools our teachers said don't just learn to pass but to understand. Here we don't feel that we are not following it because after that we also have these caste issues in our society. Point is that chandaluni named Sriya was not famous unworthly because I believe she might have no caste issues in their minds. She may get a boon from Goddess Laxmi because she treats others as only humans not by their caste. Else lord Jagannath was not suffering this much like described in that book. So nothing much. Just a request at least try to understand the true meaning of this ritual and remove caste from our society completely. Have a great day ahead, team.
